Most of the reviews and features in Luxury Latin America are furnished by veteran travel writers, writing expats based in the country, and well-traveled guidebook authors who are acknowledged experts. They have stayed in hundreds of hotels and know the difference between a standout and an also-ran. They can evaluate tour companies with authority and have a keen eye for detail, comparing their experience to similar ones in Asia, Europe, and North America.
If this sounds like you and you're interested in becoming a contributor, please read the rest of this and study the publication. If we like what we see, we will send more detailed guidelines and payment information.
At this point we are mainly interested in luxury tour and excursion stories that cover the cream of the crop in terms of options and outfitters in Mexico, Central America, and South America. No routine tours or guided trips run by average companies. No mass-market tourism stories: we want tales of personal attention and exclusivity, for discerning travelers who are more concerned about service than price.
Most of our hotel reviews are just updates at this point, but if you have just visited a new luxury resort or city hotel, it may still be open for reviews. Please see what's already published before querying and if you don't see a country there (such as Paraguay or Venezuela), assume the tourism infrastructure is not up to our standards.
We have a regular need for real estate features for areas where Americans and Canadians buy upscale homes for retirement or as a vacation home. These are generally 1,200 to 2,000 words.
Study the current reviews and stories to see what we are looking for. If you want to get an idea of who else is writing for us, see the Contributors page.
