Arennas Mancora — Peru

Antigua Panamericana Norte km 1213, Playa Pocitas, Mancora, Perú

Serene and luxurious, Hotel Arennas Mancora provides a haven of tall green palm trees, stylish rooms with ocean views, and a seductive menu for all the fresh seafood you crave while enjoying a relaxed beach holiday.

Hotel Arennas Mancora

The northern coast of Peru is famous for its miles of sandy Pacific Ocean beaches and delectable food. Hotel Arennas Mancora is strategically located in Las Pocitas Beach, an hour and 15 minutes from the nearest airport (located in Talara) and ten minutes away from the seaside village of Mancora. For those who want to find seclusion, this is the ideal spot to get away from it all. However, if action-seekers want to take off and explore Mancora's main promenade, it is just a few minutes away from the hotel.

The first thing that strikes visitors about Arennas Mancora is the ever-present coastline view framed by slender palm trees and manicured lawns. It is backed by desert hills and set directly in front of soft sandy shores. The clean lines of the modern structure and minimalist interior of neutral tones allow the ocean to play protagonist. A large deck area elegantly extends from the open-air restaurant. Lounge areas provide access to the large pool, private suites, and of course to the beach.

Though there are four different accommodation categories, each of the 22 rooms offered are equipped with fans, flat-screen televisions, a minibar, temperature regulated A/C, cushy beds with fine linens, and access to outdoor areas. The ample Garden View Superior includes a breakfast table and lounge chairs on the stylish and private terrace. Taking luxury a step further, the two available Arennas Junior Villas offer you either a private deck pool or whirlpool, both of which have a pleasant ocean view. The modern bathrooms have shower cabins or bathtubs, comfy robes, and sustainably packaged toiletries. Natural light floods into every room but for those who feel like sleeping in, blackout curtains take back the darkness allowing restorative sleep.

For early risers, direct access to the beach invites a morning stroll along the remote shoreline of Las Pocitas to start the day. Hang around the captivating open terrace overlooking the Pacific, where there are plenty of cozy corners to sit back and enjoy the sound of the rolling tide. The restaurant and lounge areas are the safest bet for a Wi-Fi connection as it doesn't reach all of the rooms, but then again, such an opportunity to completely disconnect should be welcomed.

In the spacious pool area, you are invited to laze the day away in oversize loungers while waiters are present to offer a minty Mojito. The carefully designed architecture blends harmoniously with the natural environment, making it the ideal place to unwind in the sun or take a dip in the water. Just steps from the pool you'll find an alfresco bar which offers drinks that go from a classic Pisco Sour to a spicy Michelada.

Mancora restaurantAs one of the most attractive five-star hotels in Mancora, Arennas is known for its superb service and impeccable staff. Especially in the restaurant, staff are willing to make wise suggestions and are well informed about how and where foods are sourced. During breakfast hours, guests are offered alternatives to the traditional buffet options, such as Eggs Benedict or hot cakes, as well as coffee made to order. It will only take a day or two before the attentive staff remembers your preferences and favored dishes. Set out to explore the village of Mancora or any other activity beyond the perimeters of the hotel with the help of the front-desk staff who can organize transportation (a cab or a motorized tuk-tuk).

There are various outings they can arrange for you, including surfing classes at one of Mancora's most popular point breaks. Hotel staff will take care to book aquatic outings for fishing enthusiasts or curious swimmers wishing to get up close with the green turtles in the lovely Ñuro area nearby. Between August and October, you can take a thrilling journey to view groups of humpback whales. You can enjoy a personal yoga class in the hotel's beautiful gardens or take advantage of the soothing open-air massage room, tucked in a private area behind the pool. The hotel's chef also leads classes for guests wishing to try their hand at ceviche, one of Peru's star dishes, and a staple lunch for beach goers.

When it comes to dining, Arennas Hotel has an appetizing menu featuring a varied selection of locally sourced seafood dishes such as sautéed tuna or the traditional "tiradito" made with fresh fish fillet cut in thin sashimi slices. The menu is available throughout the day and the restaurant —providing an ocean view at each of its tables— is open until 12 a.m., allowing guests to define their mealtimes. Meals can be paired with an array of drinks, including an assorted menu of wines and fresh cocktails. On select Fridays, the kitchen crew lights up the grill, illuminating the garden area, then tasty lobsters and whole fish wrapped in banana leaves are available in addition to the standard menu.

Offering delectable meals, relaxing as well as invigorating activities, and endless views of the sea, Arennas is an elegant Mancora beachside experience with a laid-back atmosphere; just being there is deeply delightful.
